Cover Letter A cover letter is required. Cover letter must state that all authors meet authorship criteria and agree with the manuscript content, disclose any financial conflicts, include a concise paragraph of salient and novel findings, state whether the paper was previously submitted as a brief meeting abstract, and explain any excess over the word limit.
Abstract An abstract is required. Abstract must not exceed 250 words. Abstract must be structured. Abstract must use the headings Aims/Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, and Conclusions.
Manuscript Manuscript must not exceed 4,000 words including the title page and abstract but excluding references, tables, and figures. Manuscript must be arranged as Abstract, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, Acknowledgment, Disclosure, References, and Supporting Information when relevant. Up to three keywords in alphabetical order must be provided below the abstract, and authors must disclose any substantial use of AI technologies in manuscript editing, development, or translation.
References References must use the Vancouver system. Citations must be numbered in superscript Arabic numerals in order of appearance, and the reference list must list up to 3 authors before using et al. for 4 or more.
Figures & Tables Tables must be provided on separate pages and figures must be supplied as separate files, with figure legends typed on a separate page. Tables must be numbered consecutively in Arabic numerals and be self-contained, while figures must be cited in consecutive order in the text.
