Abstract An abstract must be included on the first page of the article.
Manuscript Research Articles should be 3000–7000 words. The manuscript must include a Data Summary section and an Impact statement. The Data Summary must describe all supporting external data, code or software, including the DOI(s), accession number(s), and associated URL, and the first page must include three to six keywords.
References References may be submitted in any consistent style, although the house reference style is Vancouver. The reference list should include author name(s), journal or book title, article or chapter title if necessary, year of publication, volume and issue if appropriate, page numbers, and DOIs where possible.
Figures & Tables Articles should be submitted as a single file at submission. Figures and tables should be broadly comprehensible without reference to the text, avoid repeating methods, define any abbreviations or icons in the legend, and indicate reproducibility of results.

Abstract An abstract is required.
Manuscript Short Communications should be 1000–3000 words. The manuscript must include a Data Summary section describing all supporting external data, code or software, including the DOI(s), accession number(s), and associated URL. The first page must include three to six keywords, and new sequence data accession number(s) must be included on the title page when applicable.
References References may be submitted in any consistent style, although the house reference style is Vancouver. The reference list should include author name(s), source title, year, volume and issue where appropriate, page numbers, and DOI where possible, and website references should include the date accessed.
Figures & Tables Figures and tables should be comprehensible without the text, avoid duplicating brief textual results, define abbreviations or icons in the legend, and indicate reproducibility of results.
