Original Investigations

Cover Letter Cover Letter requirements are not specified.
Abstract An abstract is required. The abstract must be no more than 250 words. The abstract must be structured. The abstract must include background, methods, results, and conclusion sections.
Manuscript The manuscript should not exceed 5000 words. The manuscript must be organized into Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, References, and Figures and Tables as needed. The manuscript must include 1-2 Take-Home Messages in bullet points of no more than 50 words, and the title page must include a manuscript title, a short title of no more than 6 words, corresponding author contact details, up to 5 keywords, and disclosures.
References The manuscript should not exceed 50 references. Vancouver. References must be cited in numerical order, and journal names must be abbreviated according to the List of Title Word Abbreviations.
Figures & Tables The manuscript should not exceed 10 figures and 5 tables. Figures and tables must be uploaded as separate files, and tables must be included in the blinded manuscript on separate pages following the reference section. Figure legends must appear in the text on a separate page following the reference section.
