Health Economics, Policy and Law is an international journal that publishes scholarship on health and social care policy issues at the intersection of economics, politics, and law. It serves academics, policy makers, and practitioners, publishes both theoretical and applied work, emphasizes rigorous conceptual development and analysis and policy-relevant empirical evidence, and includes original research articles as well as editorials, review articles, and debate essays.

Research Article

Cover Letter Cover Letter requirements are not specified.
Abstract An abstract is required for Research Articles. The abstract must not exceed 200 words.
Manuscript Research Articles should be between 6,000 and 8,000 words, including tables and figures. The manuscript must include separate Funding and Competing interests declarations at the back, and any use of AI-generated content must be declared and described in the manuscript.
References References must use the author-date system of The Chicago Manual of Style, 15th Edition. In-text citations with three or more authors should give the first author's surname followed by et al. and the year, and the reference list must be arranged alphabetically at the end of the article.
Figures & Tables Tables and figures should be cited in the text, placed on separate sheets, and collected together at the end of the article after the References, with figures supplied as separate files unless LaTeX is used. Tables and figures must be numbered consecutively in Arabic numerals and accompanied by captions, and figure captions must be provided at the end of the manuscript text.
