The journal was previously known as Pharmacy World & Science until 2010.

International Journal of Clinical Pharmacy accepts the following article types. Click on an article type to view submission instructions.

Research

Cover Letter Cover letter is required and must be uploaded separately. Cover letter must state the submission is a Research article, explain why it should be considered, confirm all authors contributed significantly and approve the submission, and report the manuscript word count excluding abstract and references plus the abstract word count.
Abstract Abstract is required for Research articles. Structured abstract must not exceed 350 words. Abstract must be structured. Abstract must use the headings Introduction, Aim, Method, Results, and Conclusion, with an impact statement added at the end of the abstract and registry details and registration code added at the end if the article is a randomised controlled trial.
Manuscript Main text must not exceed 3000 words, except qualitative and mixed method Research articles may be up to 4000 words. Main text must be organized as Introduction, Aim, Method, Ethics approval, Results, Discussion, Conclusion, Declarations, and References. Manuscript must include 4 to 6 keywords at the end of the abstract, an impact statement after the abstract describing potential impact on patients, pharmacy, or clinical practice, declarations, a disclosure statement, a Data Availability Statement explaining access to supporting data, and documentation of any large language model use in the Methods section or another suitable section if no Methods section is available.
References Citations must be numbered in square brackets and the reference list must be numbered consecutively and include only cited works that are published or accepted for publication, with full DOI links included when available.
Figures & Tables Research submissions may include a combined maximum of 6 tables and figures. Tables and figures should be inserted in the text where they are first referenced, although large figures may be submitted separately if file size causes upload problems. Tables must be numbered with Arabic numerals and have captions, and each figure must have a concise caption included in the manuscript text file rather than within the illustration.

Review

Abstract Review articles must include an abstract. Abstract must be structured and no more than 350 words. Abstract must be structured. Abstract must use the headings Introduction, Aim, Method, Results, and Conclusion, and an impact statement must be added at the end of the abstract.
Manuscript Main text must be no more than 3000 words. Main text must be organized as Introduction, Aim, Method, Results, Conclusion, Declarations, and References. Manuscript must include an impact statement after the abstract, declarations, a statement identifying who conceived the article, performed the literature search and data analysis, and drafted and/or critically revised the work, and a disclosure statement.
References References must be cited by numbers in square brackets and listed consecutively in numbered order, including only works cited in the text that have been published or accepted for publication.
Figures & Tables Review articles may include a combined maximum of 6 tables and figures. Tables and figures should be inserted in the text where they are first referenced, although large figures may be submitted separately if file size causes upload problems. Tables must be numbered with Arabic numerals and have captions, and each figure must have a concise caption included in the manuscript text file rather than in the figure file.

Brief Report

Abstract Structured abstract is required. Abstract must not exceed 350 words. Abstract must be structured. Abstract must use the headings Introduction, Aim, Method, Results, and Conclusion.
Manuscript Main text must not exceed 1500 words. Main text must be organized as Introduction, Aim, Method, Ethics approval, Results, Conclusion, Declarations, and References.
