Journal of Asthma is a subscription journal that publishes clinical research on asthma and related conditions, including asthma management, critical and long-term care, preventative measures, environmental counselling, patient education, clinical immunology, allergy, pulmonary physiology, psychosomatics, pharmacology, and other asthma-related clinical health trends. It publishes original articles, review articles, letters to the Editor, commentaries, book reviews, and case studies using double-anonymized peer review and offers accelerated publication.

Original Articles

Cover Letter Cover Letter requirements are not specified.
Abstract Abstract is required. Abstract must be 250 words. Abstract must be unstructured.
Manuscript Manuscript must be no more than 4000 words. Manuscript must be organized as title page, abstract, keywords, main text with Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, and Conclusions/key findings, followed by acknowledgments, declaration of interest statement, references, appendices as appropriate, tables with captions on individual pages, figures, and figure captions as a list. Manuscript must include keywords and a declaration of interest statement.
References References must not exceed 60.
Figures & Tables Tables and figures combined must not exceed 8. Figures must be uploaded separately from the text, and tables must be placed on individual pages at the end of the manuscript.

Review Articles

Cover Letter Cover Letter requirements are not specified.
Abstract Abstract is required for Review Articles. Structured abstract must not exceed 255 words. Abstract must be structured. Abstract must use the headings Objective, Data Sources, Study Selections, Results, and Conclusion.
Manuscript Manuscript should not exceed 4,000 words. Manuscript should be ordered as title page, abstract, keywords, main text with introduction, materials and methods, results, discussion, acknowledgments, declaration of interest statement, references, appendices as appropriate, tables with captions on individual pages, figures, and figure captions as a list. Review Articles may include a maximum of 12 keywords and should provide literature search methodology details where appropriate, including databases searched, search terms, inclusive dates, and any selectivity criteria imposed.
References Review Articles may include a maximum of 60 references. References should use primary resources wherever possible and should avoid unpublished references such as Data on File and Poster references.
Figures & Tables Submissions may include a combined maximum of 8 tables and/or figures. Tables should appear on individual pages at the end of the manuscript, and figures should be submitted separately with figure captions provided as a list.
