Original Research

Cover Letter A signed cover letter from the corresponding author is required, confirming originality, non-duplicate submission, and disclosing all conflicts of interest or stating that none exist.
Abstract A structured abstract is required (max 300 words) with the headings: Background, Aim of the study, Material and Methods, Results, and Conclusions, and must not contain references.
Manuscript Overall manuscript order should be: title page, abstract, main text, tables, acknowledgments, competing interests, funding and other statements, references, image legends, and appendices as supplementary files. Limit the manuscript to ideally no more than 4,000 words, including tables and figures.
References References are cited in numerical order using superscript numbers after the relevant sentence or phrase, and cited consistently in the order they appear in the text; no maximum reference count is indicated.
Figures & Tables Figures must be uploaded as separate TIF or JPG files at a minimum resolution of 300 dpi, cited in numerical order in the text, and accompanied by legends provided at the end of the manuscript; no maximum number of figures or tables is indicated.
