Cover Letter A cover letter is required. It must explain why the manuscript should be published in Journal of Ethnobiology and Ethnomedicine, address any journal policy issues, declare any competing interests, confirm that all authors approved the submission, confirm that the manuscript has not been published or submitted elsewhere, and refer to the specific special issue name if applicable.
Abstract An abstract is required. The abstract must not exceed 350 words. The abstract must be structured. The abstract must include Background, Methods, Results, and Conclusions.
Manuscript The manuscript must include a Background section, a Methods section, a Results section, a Discussion section, and a Conclusions section. The manuscript must include a title page with the title, authors' full names and institutional addresses, and corresponding author, a Declarations section, three to ten keywords, an Availability of data and materials statement, a Competing interests section, an Authors' contributions section, and a list of abbreviations if abbreviations are used.
References Vancouver reference style. References must use Index Medicus/MEDLINE journal abbreviations, cite only allowed published or public preprint sources, exclude unpublished abstracts, data and personal communications, and provide full URL details and persistent identifiers such as DOIs where available.
Figures & Tables Figures and tables may be included in the manuscript as specified by the journal's figure and table submission rules, and titles and legends for figures must be provided in the main manuscript. Figures and tables must be numbered and cited in sequence, figure and table titles must not exceed 15 words, figure and table legends must not exceed 300 words, tables must use Arabic numerals, tables must not use color or shading, and figures and tables must follow the journal's file and presentation rules.
