Korean Journal Of Radiology accepts the following article types. Click on an article type to view submission instructions.

Original Article

Cover Letter A cover letter must be submitted.
Abstract A structured abstract is required for Original Articles. Abstract must be 300 words or fewer. Abstract must be structured. Abstract must use the headings Objective, Materials and Methods, Results, and Conclusion.
Manuscript Body text must be 3000 words or fewer. Manuscript must be organized as Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, and Discussion. Main Document must include, in order, a blinded title page, structured abstract, keywords, introduction, materials and methods, results, discussion, references, tables, and figure legends, and approximately 5 keywords should be included.
References References must be numbered consecutively in the order cited in the text, list all authors when there are six or fewer or the first six followed by et al when there are seven or more, use Index Medicus journal abbreviations, and include inclusive page numbers.
Figures & Tables Original Articles may include up to 7 figures and/or tables. Tables and figures should not be mixed with the text and must be placed collectively in the Main Document after references on separate pages. For initial submission, figures must be embedded in the Word file as JPG or JPEG images, with figure legends on separate pages and multi-part figures counting as one figure.

Review

Cover Letter A cover letter must be submitted. The cover letter must explain any overlap with published or concurrently considered material and report any changes in authorship.
Abstract An abstract is required for Reviews. Review abstracts must be 200 words or fewer. Review abstracts must be unstructured.
Manuscript Reviews must have body text of 5000 words or fewer. The Main Document must include, in order, a blinded title page, unstructured abstract, keywords, body text, references, tables, and figure legends, and section headings may be used as needed. Keywords should be included, AI use beyond routine linguistic assistance must be disclosed with sufficient detail, and AI under investigation must be explicitly described in the Materials and Methods section.
References References must be numbered consecutively in the order cited in the text, list all authors when there are six or fewer and the first six followed by et al. when there are seven or more, and use Index Medicus journal abbreviations.
Figures & Tables Reviews may include up to 10 figures and/or tables. Tables and figures must not be mixed with the text and must be placed in the Main Document after the references, with figures embedded in the Word file for the initial submission. A figure with multiple parts counts as one figure.

Brief Research Report

Main Document must be a separate Microsoft Word file arranged as blinded title page, unstructured abstract, keywords, body text, references, tables, and figure legends, and section headings may be used as appropriate. Keywords should be included, AI use beyond routine linguistic assistance must be clearly disclosed with sufficient detail, and the blinded title page must include only the title and manuscript type.
References References must be numbered consecutively in the order cited in the text, all references must be cited in the text, journal names should be abbreviated according to Index Medicus, and references with seven or more authors should list the first six followed by “et al.”.
Figures & Tables Pictorial Essays may include up to 20 figures and/or tables, with up to 20 figures permitted. Tables and figures must not be mixed with the text and must appear in the Main Document after the references, with figures embedded in the Word file for initial submission. A figure with multiple parts counts as one figure.

The manuscript must be unstructured, without section headings, and arranged in the order of blinded title page, keywords, body text, references, tables, and figure legends. Keywords should be included, and AI use beyond routine linguistic assistance must be clearly disclosed with sufficient detail.
References The manuscript may include up to 10 references. References must be numbered consecutively in the order cited in the text, with all references cited in the text.

How long does it take to publish?

The journal publishes a new issue monthly by the first day of each month. Submitted manuscripts are generally reviewed by two peer reviewers. Minor revisions are due within 30 days, major revisions within 60 days, and appeals must be submitted within one month of the manuscript decision.

Is a cover letter required?
