Critical Review

Cover Letter A cover letter is required. Cover letter must explain why the manuscript should be published, address any issues relating to journal policies, declare any potential competing interests, confirm all authors approved the submission, and confirm the manuscript content has not been published or submitted elsewhere.
Abstract Abstract is not required to be structured.
Manuscript Main text document must not exceed 5,000 words excluding references and legends. Main text document must contain the title, abstract, key points, keywords, abbreviations, introduction, methods, results, discussion, references, and optional figure or table legends, and a title page must be included. Manuscript must include key points, keywords, abbreviations, declarations using the template, and a graphical abstract using the template.
References Only published articles, clinical trial registration records, and abstracts that are published, in press, or available through public preprint servers may be cited, while unpublished abstracts, unpublished data, and personal communications must not appear in the reference list.
Figures & Tables Critical Reviews may include a maximum of 12 figures and 5 tables. Tables shorter than one page may be placed within the manuscript, tables longer than one page may be placed at the end of the document, and figure titles and legends must be provided in the main manuscript rather than in the graphic files. Figures must be submitted as single composite files for multi-panel images and numbered in first-citation order, while tables must be numbered and cited in sequence and must not be embedded as figures or spreadsheet files.
