Neuropsychology Review

Neuropsychology Review publishes integrative review papers across neuroscience that contribute to a mechanistic understanding of human neuropsychology in normal and clinical populations. The journal focuses on scholarly reviews that summarize and synthesize strengths and weaknesses in the literature and propose novel hypotheses, models, methods of analysis, and links to other fields, rather than publication of new data.

Review

Cover Letter Cover Letter requirements are not specified.
Abstract Abstract must be 150 to 250 words.
Manuscript Manuscript must include a heading titled "Statements and Declarations". Review articles must include 4 to 6 keywords, a disclosure statement, a statement identifying who had the idea for the article, who performed the literature search and data analysis, and who drafted and/or critically revised the work, and documentation of any LLM use in the Methods section or a suitable alternative section.
References References must follow APA style (6th edition, 2010). In-text citations must use name and year in parentheses and the reference list must contain only cited published or accepted works, alphabetized by the first author's last name, with DOIs given as full links when available.
Figures & Tables Figures should be submitted within the body of the text. Tables and figures must be numbered with Arabic numerals, cited in consecutive numerical order in the text, and accompanied by captions, with figure captions included in the manuscript text file.

Narrative Reviews

Cover Letter A cover letter is required for Narrative Reviews that are not based on systematic literature searching. The cover letter must justify why a systematic review was not feasible or appropriate for Narrative Reviews that are not based on systematic literature searching.
Abstract An abstract is required. Abstract must be 150 to 250 words.
Manuscript The manuscript must include 4 to 6 keywords, a heading titled "Statements and Declarations" with a Competing Interests statement, documentation of any LLM use in the Methods section or suitable alternative, a disclosure statement, and for non-systematic Narrative Reviews a justification in the manuscript body for why a systematic review was not feasible or appropriate.
References References must follow APA style, 6th edition, with name-and-year in-text citations. The reference list must include only cited published or accepted works, be alphabetized by the first author's last name, include full DOI links when available, and appropriate and relevant literature must be cited to support claims.
Figures & Tables Figures should be submitted within the body of the text. Tables and figures must be numbered with Arabic numerals and cited in consecutive numerical order, each table must have a caption, and each figure must have a concise descriptive caption included in the manuscript text file.

Systematic Reviews

Cover Letter A cover letter is required for systematic reviews without meta-analysis. Systematic reviews without meta-analysis must explain in the cover letter why meta-analysis was not considered appropriate.
