Psychiatric Quarterly publishes original research, theoretical papers, and review articles addressing the assessment and treatment of mental health conditions. The journal maintains a commitment to studies on mental health service use in outpatient and inpatient settings while also covering broader psychopathology and recent trends in psychiatric research. It was launched as The State Hospital Quarterly in 1915, adopted its current name in 1927, and has been published continuously since then.

Cover Letter Cover Letter requirements are not specified.
Abstract An abstract is required. Abstract must be 150 to 250 words.
Manuscript Manuscript must be anonymized for double-blind peer review and include a Declarations section before the reference list. Manuscript must include 4 to 6 keywords, a disclosure statement, relevant declarations, and documentation of any large language model use in the Methods section or another suitable section.
References Citations must use numbered references in square brackets. Reference list entries must be numbered consecutively and include only works cited in the text that have been published or accepted for publication.
Figures & Tables Figures should be submitted within the body of the text and uploaded separately only if file size causes upload problems. Tables and figures must be numbered with Arabic numerals and cited in the text in consecutive numerical order.
