Original Research Articles

Cover Letter A separate cover letter is required. Cover letter must include the manuscript title, complete author list, a statement that the work is solely submitted to Radiology: Imaging Cancer, and descriptions of any conflicts of interest, subject overlap with prior publications, and justification for equal first authorship if applicable.
Abstract A structured abstract is required. Abstract must not exceed 250 words. Abstract must be structured. Abstract must include the headings Purpose, Methods, Results, and Conclusions.
Manuscript Main text from Introduction through Discussion must be 3000–5000 words. Main body must use the headings Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, and Discussion. Manuscript must include up to 3 Key Points, a required 1–2 sentence Summary Statement, author contribution listings, and disclosure of any AI or AI-assisted technology use.
References References are limited to 35. References must be cited and numbered consecutively in the order first mentioned in the text, use National Library of Medicine journal abbreviations, and include article DOIs.
Figures & Tables Manuscripts may include up to 8 figures and 4 tables. For new submissions, all figures must be combined in one separate text document in text order with legends immediately following each figure, while tables must be attached to the end of the main text document. Each figure may have no more than four components, and each table must be on a separate page with a title.

Cover letter must include the manuscript title, complete author list, confirmation of sole submission, any conflict of interest or industry support, a statement of which author or authors had control of data and performed analyses, and an explanation of equal first-author contribution if applicable.
Abstract An abstract is required. Abstract must not exceed 250 words. Abstract must be structured. Abstract must be divided into Purpose, Materials and Methods, Results, and Conclusion sections.
Manuscript Main text must not exceed 3500 words from Introduction through Discussion. Main body must use the headings Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, and Discussion. Manuscript must include a 1–2 sentence Summary Statement, list each author's contributions, and disclose any use of AI or AI-assisted technologies.
References References are limited to 40. References must be numbered consecutively in order of first mention, use National Library of Medicine periodical abbreviations, and include article DOIs.
Figures & Tables Manuscript may include up to 6 figures and 2 tables. For new submissions, figures must be combined into the main text document in order of appearance with legends immediately following, and tables must be attached at the end of the text document. Figures may have no more than four components each, and tables must be prepared in Word with each table on a separate page and a title.

Review Articles

Cover Letter A separate cover letter is required. The cover letter must include the manuscript title, complete author list, any conflict of interest or industry support, confirmation of sole submission, and a statement identifying which author or authors controlled the data and performed analyses.
Abstract An abstract is required. The abstract must be no more than 200 words. The abstract must be unstructured.
Manuscript The manuscript must be no more than 5000 words from Introduction to Conclusion. The manuscript must include Introduction through Conclusion. The manuscript must include three to five bullet points labeled “Essentials” with the page number for each item, a single-sentence Summary Statement, and disclosure of any AI or AI-assisted technology use at submission.
References References are limited to 50. References must use numbered citations in the order first mentioned, following National Library of Medicine journal abbreviation style. References must be numbered consecutively in first-mention order and include the article DOI.
Figures & Tables The manuscript may include up to 12 figures and 4 tables, although pictorial review articles may include up to 15 figures. For new submissions, figures must be combined into the main text document in the order cited with legends immediately following each figure, and tables must be attached at the end of the text document. Figures must be numbered with no more than four components per figure, and each table must be on a separate page with a title and numbered in Arabic numerals.

The manuscript file must be a single document containing the Abbreviated Title Page, Abstract, Main Body, Acknowledgments, References, Figure Legends, and Tables. The manuscript must include a 1–2 sentence summary statement, 3 key points, and disclosure of any AI or AI-assisted technologies used in preparing the manuscript.

Figures & Tables Figures and tables are limited to a total of 4 each.
