Research Papers

Cover Letter A cover letter should introduce the paper and explain why the work is important and suitable for publication. The cover letter must be accompanied by confirmation that all authors have seen and approved the final version and approve submission of the article.
Abstract Research Papers must include a single-paragraph abstract. The abstract must not exceed 250 words. The abstract must be unstructured as a single paragraph. The abstract must state the objective, methods where applicable, and summarize results and conclusions, and it must avoid abbreviations and references.
Manuscript Research Papers must be limited to 5000 words, and the introduction should rarely exceed 3 pages of double-spaced text. The manuscript must contain all relevant sections and include Declaration of interest, Funding, author contribution statement, Acknowledgements, and Materials and methods with sufficient detail to repeat the study. Research Papers must include a separate title page with the title, authors’ names and full addresses, corresponding author postal and email address, short title, full-article word count, at least four keywords, a lay summary of no more than 150 words, and a Data Availability Statement, and any use of AI tools must be described in detail within the Materials and Methods section.
References Manuscripts should contain no more than 60 references. References in the text must use author names and publication year. Multiple in-text citations must be in chronological order, the reference list must be alphabetical, use et al. in text for more than two authors, list at least three authors before using et al. in references, cite web-only sources in text with access date instead of listing them, and refer to unpublished work only in the text.
Figures & Tables Manuscripts should contain no more than 10 figures. Figures and tables must be numbered in the order cited in the text, figures must include legends with specified content, and each table must have a single-sentence title and explanatory footnotes for abbreviations and additional material.
