Research Articles

Cover Letter A cover letter should introduce the paper and explain why the work is important and suitable for publication at this time. The cover letter should introduce the paper and outline why the work is important and suitable for publication at this time.
Abstract Research Articles must include an abstract. The abstract must not exceed 250 words. The abstract must be a single unstructured paragraph. The abstract must clearly state the objective, methods where applicable, and summarize the results and conclusions.
Manuscript The manuscript must be limited to 5000 words excluding references and figure legends. The manuscript must be organized as Title Page, Abstract, Introduction, Materials and methods, Results, Discussion, Declaration of interest, Funding and Acknowledgements, References, Statistical analysis, Tables, Figures, and 'Omics' papers where applicable. The manuscript must include at least four keywords, display the word count on the title page, and include an AI disclosure statement stating whether generative AI was used.
References The reference list should contain no more than 60 references. References must use Vancouver style. References must be cited numerically in the text, listed in citation order, and list at least three authors before using 'et al.'.
Figures & Tables The article should contain no more than 10 figures. The title page must be uploaded separately from the main manuscript, and tables must be uploaded as separate editable Word files. Tables must be numbered in citation order, and figures must be numbered in citation order and include legends with the figure number, symbol keys, organism name, statistical tests, and probability levels.
