Free Radical Biology and Medicine publishes research in the redox biology of health and disease, including signal transduction and redox signaling, oxidative and reductive stress, aging, metabolic regulation, mitochondrial function, homeostatic mechanisms, redox chemistry, materials and nanomaterials, non-thermal plasmas, and redox biology across microorganisms, plants, animals, and humans. It welcomes full-length and short Research Communications, Hypothesis Papers, Reviews, Mini Reviews, Graphical Reviews, and Critical Methods Papers, and is the official journal of the Society for Redox Biology and Medicine and the Society for Free Radical Research-Europe, and an affiliate journal of the International Society for Free Radical Research.

Abstract Abstract is required. Abstract must not exceed 200 words.
Manuscript Review Articles are usually 16,320 words in length excluding references and figure legends. Manuscript must be divided into clearly defined sections using headings. Submission must include 1 to 7 keywords in English, 3 to 5 highlights provided as a separate editable file, a graphical abstract, a declarations tool completion, and an AI disclosure statement at the end of the manuscript before the references if generative AI was used in manuscript preparation.
References Review Articles normally include 75 to 250 references. References must be cited using numbered square brackets in the text.
