Canadian Journal of Cardiology is an international, peer-reviewed journal that disseminates new knowledge in cardiology and cardiovascular science. It publishes original reports of clinical and basic research relevant to cardiovascular medicine, as well as practice guidelines, editorials, review articles, news and commentary features, and case reports. It is the official journal of the Canadian Cardiovascular Society and a companion title to CJC Open and CJC Pediatric and Congenital Heart Disease.

Cover Letter A letter of transmittal is required with submission. The letter must state that all authors participated in the work and approved the article, that the article is not under consideration elsewhere or previously published except as an abstract, that any copied text is quoted and cited, and that permissions for reproduced figures or tables have been or will be obtained by the author.
Abstract A structured abstract is required. Abstract must not exceed 250 words. Abstract must be structured. Abstract must conclude with a succinct sentence summarizing the paper’s most novel findings or contributions and their relevance.
Manuscript Manuscript is generally limited to 6000 words including all elements. Manuscript should include clearly defined sections, and the Discussion should end with a brief Conclusions paragraph summarizing the most important novel elements of the study and their relevance to cardiovascular medicine. The title page must include a short title of 50 characters or less, 3 to 7 keywords, a declaration of interest statement, and an AI-use declaration at the end of the manuscript before the references if generative AI was used.
References References must use Vancouver style with superscript numeric in-text citations.
