The journal publishes narrative reviews, systematic reviews and editorials covering areas of controversy and debate, as well as areas of future research across disciplines involved in sleep medicine, including pulmonology, psychiatry, psychology, physiology, otolaryngology, paediatrics, geriatrics, cardiology, dentistry, nursing, neurology and general medicine.

Sleep Medicine Reviews is an invitation-only journal. Submissions are accepted by invitation from the editorial board only. The following article types are accepted:

Review Articles

Cover Letter Cover Letter requirements are not specified.
Abstract An abstract is required. Abstract must not exceed 200 words.
Manuscript Manuscript must be no more than 8,000 words including figures, tables, and references. Manuscript must be presented in the order title page, summary, keywords, glossary of terms, text, practice points, research agenda, acknowledgments, references, figures, and tables, with clearly defined and numbered headings and sections. Manuscript must include 3 to 10 English keywords, mandatory boxed Practice Points and Research Agenda sections, and a Declaration of Generative AI and AI-assisted technologies in the writing process placed immediately above the references if AI tools were used for writing.
References A maximum of 100 references is permitted. References must be cited by number in square brackets. References must be numbered in the order of appearance in the text, list the first 6 authors followed by 'et al.' when there are more than 6 authors, and use LTWA journal title abbreviations.
Figures & Tables Figures must be supplied as separate files, while tables must be submitted as editable text. All figures and tables must be cited in the text, numbered consecutively in order of appearance, and provided with captions.
