Neurología is the official journal of the Sociedad Española de Neurología (Spanish Neurology Society) and has published scientific contributions in clinical and experimental neurology since 1986. Its scope spans neuroepidemiology, clinical neurology, neurological management and therapy, and basic neuroscience applied to neurology, including pediatric neurology, neuropsychology, neurorehabilitation, and geriatric neurology. The journal uses double-blind peer review and publishes Editorials, Original Articles, Review Articles, and Letters to the Editor.

Original Articles

Cover Letter Cover Letter requirements are not specified.
Abstract Original Articles must be accompanied by an abstract. Abstract must not exceed 250 words. Abstract must be structured. Abstract must use the headings Introduction, Methods, Results and Conclusions.
Manuscript Text should be about 3,500 words excluding the abstract, tables, figures and references. Manuscript must be divided into Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results and Discussion. Manuscript must include keywords, with a maximum of 6 provided immediately after the abstract, and a competing interests statement.
References References should be limited to a maximum of 40. References must be cited by number in square brackets, listed in the order of first appearance, and for works with more than 6 authors the first 6 authors should be listed followed by 'et al.'.
Figures & Tables A maximum of 6 tables and/or figures is allowed. Each illustration must be submitted as a separate file, captions must be supplied separately, and tables must be submitted as editable text rather than images. Figures must include relevant captions and be numbered according to their sequence in the text, and tables must include titles, descriptions and footnotes and be numbered consecutively in the text.

Manuscript Review Article text is recommended to be 3,500 words excluding the abstract, tables, figures, and references. Articles must be divided into clearly defined sections. Up to 6 keywords must be provided immediately after the abstract, and highlights if submitted must consist of 3 to 5 bullet points of no more than 85 characters each in a separate editable file.
References References must be cited using numbered square-bracket citations. References must be numbered in the order of appearance in the text, and for works with more than 6 authors only the first 6 authors should be listed followed by 'et al.'.
Figures & Tables Review Articles may include a maximum of 6 tables and/or figures. Each figure must be submitted as a separate file, captions must be supplied separately, and tables must be submitted as editable text. Figures must be numbered according to their sequence in the text and tables must be numbered consecutively in accordance with their appearance in the text.
