Seminars in Fetal & Neonatal Medicine is a bi-monthly journal that publishes topic-based issues, including Hot Topics on advances in fetal and neonatal medicine. It is aimed at obstetricians, maternal-fetal medicine specialists, neonatologists, pediatricians, midwives, and related specialists, and commissions review-based content on clinical opinion and care of pregnant patients and neonates. Each topic-based issue is edited by an authority in the field and contains 8-10 articles.

Submission Instructions

Seminars in Fetal and Neonatal Medicine is an invitation-only journal. Submissions are accepted by invitation from the editorial board only. The following article types are accepted:

Review-Based Content

Cover Letter A cover letter must be included with the submission. The cover letter should briefly state the study's aim, main findings, fit with the journal's scope, novelty and broader implications, and acknowledge the invitation if applicable.
Abstract An abstract is required. The abstract must not exceed 250 words. The abstract must be concise, factual, and unstructured.
Manuscript The manuscript must be divided into clearly defined sections using headings. The manuscript must include 1 to 7 English keywords and, if generative AI was used in manuscript preparation, a declaration section before the references titled 'Declaration of generative AI and AI-assisted technologies in the manuscript preparation process.'.
References References must use a numbered square-bracket citation style. References must be numbered in order of appearance in the text, every in-text citation must appear in the reference list and vice versa, and references with more than 6 authors must list the first 6 followed by 'et al.'.
Figures & Tables Tables must be placed next to the relevant text or on separate pages at the end of the article, while figures must be supplied as separate files along with the manuscript. Tables must be editable text with captions and citations in the text, and figures must be individually numbered, cited in the text, and accompanied by captions with any AI-generated images disclosed in the caption.
