Allergology International

Allergology International is the official journal of the Japanese Society of Allergology and publishes original papers dealing with the etiology, diagnosis and treatment of allergic and related diseases. Papers may include the study of methods of controlling allergic reactions, human and animal models of hypersensitivity and other aspects of basic and applied clinical allergy in its broadest sense. The journal encourages international exchange of results and accepts Original Articles, Review Articles, and Letters to the Editor. Manuscripts are peer reviewed by two anonymous reviewers and the Editor except where otherwise stated.

Original Article

Cover Letter Cover letter is required and must confirm that any cited in-press articles have been accepted for publication. Cover letter must state that the content has not been published or submitted elsewhere and confirm that any cited in-press articles have been accepted for publication.
Abstract Abstract is required. Abstract must be 250 words or fewer. Abstract must be structured. Abstract must use the headings Background, Methods, Results, and Conclusions.
Manuscript Manuscript must not exceed 5000 words excluding the abstract, figure legends, and references. Manuscript must be organized as title page including COI statement and authors' contributions, abstract and key words, list of abbreviations used, introduction, methods, results, discussion, acknowledgements, references, figure legends, tables, figures, and supplementary materials. Manuscript must include five MeSH key words in alphabetical order below the abstract, a list of nonstandard abbreviations after the keywords when needed, and a generative AI disclosure statement before the references if AI-assisted manuscript preparation was used.
References References must use the Vancouver system. References must be cited with superscript Arabic numerals in order of appearance, listed numerically in that same order, use Index Medicus journal abbreviations, list all authors when there are six or fewer, and list the first six followed by et al. when there are seven or more.
Figures & Tables Original Articles may include up to 8 figures and/or tables. Figure legends must be provided separately, each table must be presented in a separate file, and each figure must be presented in a separate file. Figure legends must be self-explanatory and define symbols, abbreviations, and units, while tables must be self-contained, numbered consecutively in Arabic numerals, and include a concise legend above the table.
