Abstract
A structured abstract is required. Abstract must not exceed 250 words. Abstract must be structured. Abstract must use only the headings Purpose, Objective, or Background; Methods; Results; and Conclusions.
Manuscript
Manuscript must not exceed 3000 words including abstract, text, and acknowledgements but excluding tables, references, and the title page. Manuscript must be divided into clearly defined sections using headings. Manuscript must include 1 to 7 English keywords, article highlights of 3 to 5 bullet points in a separate editable file, 3 to 4 clinical significance bullet points in a separate document not exceeding 70 words total, and an AI-use declaration in a new section before the references if generative AI was used in manuscript preparation.
References
References should be limited to approximately 40. References must follow the American Medical Association Manual of Style. References must be cited as superscript numbers in the text, listed as endnotes in order of appearance, and every listed reference must be cited in the text.
Figures & Tables
The anonymized manuscript must contain tables, while figures and other graphical media must be uploaded as separate files. Legends are required for all tables and figures, tables must be editable text rather than images, photograph and illustration files must be TIFF or JPEG at 300 dpi or greater and not Word, PowerPoint, or PDF, and line art figures may be submitted in Microsoft Word or PowerPoint.
