Research Articles - Quantitative And Qualitative Research

Cover Letter A cover letter is required. The cover letter must include assurances of prior non-publication, exclusive consideration, author approval, and no republication without written consent.
Abstract An abstract is required. The abstract must not exceed 250 words. The abstract must be structured. The abstract must use the headings Objective, Methods, Results, and Conclusions.
Manuscript The manuscript must not exceed 3500 words. The manuscript must include Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussion sections. The manuscript must include a What's New section, list any uncommon abbreviations at the beginning of the article, and include an AI-use declaration at the end of the manuscript before the references if generative AI was used in manuscript preparation.
References References should generally not exceed 35. References must follow AMA style. References must be numbered in the order of appearance and cited in the text with consecutive superscript Arabic numerals, listing all authors when there are four or fewer and the first three followed by et al. when there are more than four.
Figures & Tables Tables and figures must be placed together at the end of the manuscript, and each figure must also be submitted as a separate file. Illustration captions must be provided separately.

Manuscript must include a What's New section of no more than 40 words, a separate page listing MeSH key words, a separate page box titled "What this Systematic Review Adds" of no more than 40 words, a separate page box titled "How to Use this Systematic Review" of no more than 40 words, and an AI-use declaration at the end of the manuscript before the references if generative AI was used in manuscript preparation.
References There is no reference limit. References must follow AMA style. References must be numbered in the order cited in the text using consecutive superscript Arabic numerals, list all authors when there are four or fewer and the first three followed by et al. when there are more than four, exclude unpublished references or meeting abstracts, and include access dates for websites.
