Basic Science Article

Cover Letter Cover Letter requirements are not specified.
Abstract A structured abstract is required. Abstract must not exceed 200 words. The abstract must be structured. The structured abstract must include Background, Methods, Results, and Conclusion.
Manuscript Basic Science Articles must be 6000 words. The manuscript must include Methods and a discussion that includes study limitations. The title page must include an Impact statement labeled "Impact" of no more than 100 words presented as three to five bullet points addressing the key message, addition to the literature, and impact, and AI writing assistance must be disclosed in the acknowledgments while AI use for data or analysis tasks must be described in the Methods section.
References References must be cited numerically in order of appearance using superscript numbers, and the reference list must include all authors unless there are more than five, in which case only the first author is listed followed by "et al.".
Figures & Tables Manuscripts may include up to 6 figures. Tables must be submitted as a single separate Word file and each figure must be uploaded as its own separate file.
