This peer-reviewed journal promotes understanding and advances the treatment of respiratory, allergic, and immunologic diseases in children. The journal delivers original translational, clinical, and epidemiologic research on the most common chronic illnesses of children—asthma and allergies—as well as many less common and rare diseases. It emphasizes the developmental implications of the morphological, physiological, pharmacological, and sociological components of these problems, as well as the impact of disease processes on families.

Original Research Articles

Cover Letter A cover letter is required only if third-party writing or editing assistance was used, if someone not listed as an author submitted on behalf of the authors, or to attest that written patient consent has been received and archived when required. The cover letter must disclose any third-party writing or editing assistance, identify any non-author submitting on behalf of the authors, and attest that written patient consent has been received and archived when required.
Abstract A structured abstract is required. The abstract must not exceed 300 words. The abstract must be structured. The abstract must use the headings Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, and Contribution to the Literature.
Manuscript The manuscript must not exceed 2,500 words. The manuscript must be organized as Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, and Conclusions. The manuscript must include at least 4 keywords after the abstract, an Author Contributions section, a Statements and Declarations section on the title page with each required subheading including 'Not applicable' where relevant, funding and conflict of interest statements, and disclosure of any AI system use in the Materials and Methods section.
References References must follow Vancouver style. References must be numbered in sequential order of citation in the text using superscript Arabic numerals outside punctuation, and journal titles must use PubMed/Medline abbreviations.
Figures & Tables A maximum total of six figures and/or tables is permitted. Figures must be uploaded as individual files, tables may be placed after the references in the main text file or uploaded as a single separate Word file, and the main text must not contain embedded figures or tables. Figures and tables must be numbered and cited sequentially, each figure must have a legend, and each table must be editable and have a title.
