Original Articles

Cover Letter A cover letter must be provided. The cover letter must explain why the manuscript is suitable for publication and disclose any third-party writing or editing assistance or non-author submission made on behalf of the authors.

Abstract A structured abstract is required. The abstract must not exceed 300 words. The abstract must be structured. The abstract headings must be Background, Objectives, Design, Methods, Results, Conclusion, and Registration (if applicable).

Manuscript The manuscript should be up to 6000 words, excluding tables, figure legends, and references. The manuscript must include clearly defined sections and a section headed 'Statements and Declarations' at the end after the Acknowledgements and Author Contributions sections if applicable. The manuscript must include at least 2 keywords after the abstract, an Author Contributions heading after the Acknowledgements section, and each subheading under 'Statements and Declarations,' with 'Not applicable' used where relevant, while a plain language summary is optional.

References There is no reference limit. References must follow Sage Vancouver style. Every in-text citation must have a corresponding reference list entry and vice versa, with identical spelling and year in corresponding citations.

Figures & Tables There is no limit on figures and tables. Figures and images must be uploaded. Figures must be numbered consecutively in the order in which they appear in the text.
