Original Articles

Cover Letter A cover letter is required only to disclose prior publication as an abstract or electronic preprint. The cover letter must disclose prior publication as an abstract or an electronic preprint.
Abstract A structured abstract is required. The abstract must be less than 300 words. The abstract must be structured. The abstract must use the headings Objective(s), Study design, Results, and Conclusion(s).
Manuscript The manuscript must be no more than 4,000 words, including the title page and abstract and excluding references, tables, and figures. The manuscript must be divided into clearly defined sections using headings, and Original Articles should not include a Conclusion section following the Discussion. The manuscript must include 1 to 7 keywords in English, a separate acknowledgements section directly before the references, a list of abbreviations and acronyms used more than 3 times, and if generative AI was used in manuscript preparation, a declaration section placed before the references.
References References must follow AMA style. References must be cited by number in square brackets, listed in the reference list in order of appearance, and for works with more than 6 authors the first 6 authors must be listed followed by 'et al.'.
Figures & Tables Original Articles may include no more than 8 combined tables and figures. Tables must be included as editable text and figures must be uploaded as separate files along with the manuscript. Tables and figures must be cited and numbered in the order of appearance, each must include a caption, and tables or figures must not duplicate data described in the text.
