Current Opinion in Immunology aims to stimulate scientifically grounded, interdisciplinary, multi-scale debate and exchange of ideas. It publishes polished, concise, and timely reviews and opinions with emphasis on articles published in the past two years, and helps readers through expert views on current advances and evaluations of notable recent papers. The journal is divided into 8 themed sections and 2 special sections reviewed once a year, and review articles are by invitation only.

Current Opinion In Immunology is an invitation-only journal. Submissions are accepted by invitation from the editorial board only. The following article types are accepted:

Review Articles

Cover Letter Cover Letter requirements are not specified.
Abstract Abstract is required. Abstract must not exceed 250 words. Abstract must be unstructured and able to stand alone.
Manuscript Review Article should be approximately 2000 words excluding references and reference notes. Manuscript must be divided into clearly defined sections with headings and must explore the most important developments from the last 2 years. Submission must include 1 to 7 English keywords and separate highlights consisting of 3 to 5 bullet points, and at least 10% of references must be annotated as papers of special (*) or outstanding (**) interest with brief descriptions of their findings and importance.
References Review Article should include approximately 50 references, with self-citations kept below 20% of the total. References must use numbered citations in square brackets. References must be numbered in the order cited in the text, and entries with more than 6 authors must list the first 6 followed by 'et al.'.
Figures & Tables Review Article must include no more than 4 tables or figures in total and should include at least 1 figure summarizing the main concepts discussed. Figures must be supplied as separate files and tables must be submitted as editable text. All figures and tables must be cited in the text, numbered consecutively, and provided with captions.
