Midwifery publishes peer reviewed research on the safety, quality, outcomes and experiences of care during pregnancy, labour, birth, postnatal and beyond for childbearing women, their infants and families. It supports midwives and maternity care providers and covers cultural, clinical, psycho-social, sociological, epidemiological, education, managerial, workforce, organizational and translational areas of practice in maternal and infant care, maternity services and other health systems.

Abstract Abstract must not exceed 250 words.
Manuscript Main body text must not exceed 5000 words, excluding the title page, abstract, and references. Manuscript must be divided into clearly defined sections using headings and include an introduction, methods, and conclusion. Manuscript must include 4 to 6 English keywords, a Statement of Significance table in the introduction with the headings Problem or Issue, What is Already Known, and What this Paper Adds, a declaration of AI use in a new section before the references if applicable, and a statement describing how people who use maternity services were involved in the research or why such engagement was not appropriate.
References Reference list must not exceed 50 references. Citations must use author name and year style. Reference list must be arranged alphabetically and then chronologically if necessary, with journal names abbreviated according to the List of Title Word Abbreviations.
Figures & Tables Research Articles must not exceed 6 tables or figures. Tables must be included in the anonymized manuscript, while figures and other graphical media must be uploaded as separate files. Tables must be submitted as editable text rather than images and all tables and figures must be cited in the manuscript text, numbered consecutively, and provided with captions.
