Journal of Infection and Chemotherapy is the official journal of the Japanese Society of Chemotherapy, The Japanese Association for Infectious Diseases, and Japanese Society for Infection Prevention and Control. It welcomes original papers, review papers, laboratory or clinical studies, case reports, notes, committee reports, surveillance, and guidelines on all aspects of chemotherapy, including the pathogenesis, diagnosis, treatment, and control of infection, with particular interest in animal models, pharmacokinetics, epidemiology, and clinical trials.

Abstract A structured abstract is required for Original Articles. Abstract must be less than 250 words. Abstract must be structured.
Manuscript Main text must be less than 3,000 words excluding Acknowledgement, conflict of interest description, tables, figures, and references. Manuscript must be organized into Introduction, Materials and Methods or Patients and Methods, Results, and Discussion sections. Manuscript must include 3–6 keywords, a summary declaration of interest statement, and an AI-use declaration at the end of the manuscript before the references if generative AI was used in manuscript preparation.
References References must use numbered citations in square brackets. References must be numbered in the order of appearance in the text, and for works with more than 6 authors, the first 6 authors must be listed followed by 'et al.'.
