Neural Networks publishes research on all aspects of neural networks, including deep learning and related artificial intelligence and machine learning approaches. It welcomes work spanning cognitive modeling, computational neuroscience, deep learning algorithms, mathematical analysis, and engineering applications, and publishes articles, letters, reviews/tutorials, letters to the editor, editorials, and current events across five sections: learning systems, cognitive science, neuroscience, mathematical and computational analysis, and engineering and applications.

Cover Letter Cover Letter requirements are not specified.
Abstract An abstract is required. Abstract must not exceed 250 words. Abstract must be concise, factual, and unstructured.
Manuscript Manuscript must be an original full-length article divided into clearly defined and numbered sections, and authors must specify one of the five sections: Cognitive Science, Neuroscience, Learning Systems, Mathematical and Computational Analysis, or Engineering and Applications. Manuscript must include 1 to 6 English keywords and a generative AI declaration section before the references if AI was used in manuscript preparation.
References Citations and references must follow American Psychological Association style. Reference list must be arranged alphabetically and then chronologically, with same-author same-year entries distinguished by letters after the year.
Figures & Tables Figures must be supplied as separate files, while tables are submitted with the manuscript as editable text. Tables must be editable text with consecutive numbering and captions, and all figures and tables must be cited in the text.
