Cover Letter A cover letter is required. Cover letter must confirm all authors approved submission, all qualifying authors are included and meet authorship criteria, contributors and funding have been properly acknowledged with their approval, describe each author's contribution, state whether each author had complete access to the supporting study data, and declare the exact role of any AI tools used.
Abstract A structured abstract is required. Abstract must not exceed 200 words. Abstract must be structured. Abstract headings must be Aim, Method, Results, and Interpretation.
Manuscript Main text must not exceed 3000 words excluding references. Manuscript must include an introductory section not headed 'Introduction' followed by Method, Results, and Discussion, with the Discussion including study limitations. Manuscript must include a 'What this paper adds' section after the abstract with up to 5 bullet points of no more than 12 words each, a short section on involvement of people with lived experience or why they were not involved, a graphical abstract, a declaration in the paper of any AI tool use, and for Method the study design and pre-established protocol followed.
References References must not exceed 30. References must use Vancouver style.
Figures & Tables Figures must be submitted as separate files, and tables, figure legends, and short appendices must be placed on separate pages at the end of the main document after the references. A graphical abstract is required, and one figure must be designated for the online table of contents alongside the abstract.
