Research Article

Cover Letter Use of AI must be disclosed in the cover letter, and lack of an institutional or affiliation-linked email address should be mentioned there if applicable.
Abstract Research Articles must include an abstract. Abstract must be no more than 250 words. Research Articles must also include a graphical abstract, and the text abstract must not contain reference citations or abbreviations.
Manuscript Research Articles must not exceed 8000 words. Main text must be structured as Introduction, Materials & Methods, Results and Discussion. Manuscript must include no more than 6 keywords, a graphical abstract, acknowledgments and funding information at the end, conflict of interest declarations, and AI use disclosure in the Methods or Acknowledgements section.
References Research Articles must include no more than 50 references. References may be submitted in any readable style, must be readable and accurate, and should include the full DOI link where available.
Figures & Tables Research Articles may include a maximum of 6 figures and a maximum of 6 tables. Tables must be placed at the end of the main text, while each figure must be submitted as an individual image file and graphical abstracts should be submitted as a separate file. All tables and figures must be numbered and cited in the text, all tables and figures must have legends, figure titles and legends must appear in the manuscript file rather than the image file, all panels of a multipanel figure must be submitted as one file with lettered upper-left panel labels, tables must be provided in editable format, and alt text must be provided for all images, figures, illustrations, and photographs.
