Original Articles

Cover Letter Cover letter is required to disclose any use of AI at submission and to identify if an EHJ-CVP Editor is a co-author or contributor. Cover letter must disclose any use of AI and indicate if an EHJ-CVP Editor is a co-author or contributor.
Abstract Abstract is required. Abstract must not exceed 250 words. Abstract must be structured. Abstract must use the headings aims, methods and results, and conclusion.
Manuscript Manuscript must not exceed 5000 words including references, figure legends, and tables. Manuscript text must be arranged in the order title page, abstract and keywords, introduction, methods, results, discussion, acknowledgements, references, appendices, text tables, and figure legends. Manuscript must include no more than six keywords, a Funding section before Acknowledgements, a Disclosures section, an explanation of any AI use in Methods or Acknowledgements, and a graphical abstract legend in the Legends section if a graphical abstract is submitted.
References References are limited to a maximum of 50. References must use Vancouver style. References must be cited with Arabic numerals in order of appearance, use Medline journal abbreviations, include complete citation information, and list the first six authors followed by "et al." when there are more than six authors.
Figures & Tables Figures and tables are limited to a combined total of 8, with any additional items designated as supplementary online-only material. Figures must be submitted as separate files, each table must be uploaded as a separate file, and graphical abstracts must be submitted as a separate file for peer review. A separate list of figure legends must be included in the manuscript file, alt text must be provided for all images, and a graphical abstract legend defining any abbreviations must be included in the Legends section of the manuscript.
