Cover Letter Cover Letter requirements are not specified.
Abstract Abstract is required and must not exceed 250 words. Abstract must not exceed 250 words. Abstract must be structured. Abstract must use the headings BACKGROUND, METHODS, RESULTS, AND CONCLUSIONS.
Manuscript Manuscript must not exceed 3,000 words excluding abstract, references, tables, and figures. Manuscript should nominally be organized under the main headings Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, and Disclosure. Keywords must be included on the title page, and a graphical abstract is encouraged in addition to the text abstract.
References References must not exceed 40. References must use Vancouver style. References must be numbered in order of citation, cited in the text as superscript Arabic numerals, and list all authors.
Figures & Tables Manuscript must not exceed 4 figures and 4 tables. Tables and figures must be supplied as separate files, with figure legends provided on a separate manuscript page after the references. Tables must be numbered consecutively and provided in editable format rather than as images, and all images, figures, illustrations, and photographs must include alt text in the main manuscript file under the relevant figure legend.
