Articles

Cover Letter A cover letter is required at initial submission and must be no more than 1–2 pages. The cover letter must explain the submission’s suitability for the journal by summarizing the key findings of interest to readers.
Abstract A structured abstract is required. The abstract must be structured.
Manuscript The manuscript should contain 3000 or fewer words excluding the abstract, reference list, tables, and figure legends. The manuscript should include a brief introduction and sections labeled Methods, Results, and Discussion. Alt text for each image, figure, illustration, and photograph must be included directly under the relevant figure legend in the main manuscript file and preceded by 'Alt text:'.
References References must be numbered in the order cited, listed as a separate section at the end, and for works with more than six authors must list the first three authors followed by 'et al.'.
Figures & Tables The total number of supplementary figures plus supplementary tables must not exceed the total number of figures and tables allowed for this manuscript type. Tables must be included in the main text Word file, while figure files should be supplied separately from the main manuscript file. Main text tables must be in Word table format, and all panels for a figure should be uploaded in a single figure file.
