Journal of Cardiac Failure is the official journal of the Heart Failure Society of America and the Japanese Heart Failure Society. It publishes research and other content in heart failure, including original investigator-initiated work, reviews, guidelines and scientific statements, expert perspectives, early career and trainee spotlight pieces, and patient and patient-partner narratives, with an emphasis on diversity, equity, inclusion, mentorship, multidisciplinary partnerships, and patient-centeredness.

Original Research Papers

Cover Letter A cover letter is required with the submission. The cover letter should briefly state the study aim, main findings, fit with the journal’s scope, novelty, broader implications, and any request for expedited review with its rationale.
Abstract Original Research Papers must include an abstract. The abstract should be approximately 250 words and must not exceed 250 words.
Manuscript Original Research Papers must not exceed 3500 words. The article must be divided into clearly defined and numbered sections. The manuscript must include 1 to 4 English keywords, and generative AI or AI-assisted tools must not be used to create or alter images.
References Original Research Papers may include up to 30 references. References must follow AMA Manual of Style, 11th edition. References must be cited with superscript Arabic numerals in consecutive order and listed in the reference list in the order of first appearance.
Figures & Tables Original Research Papers may include up to 6 tables and figures. Figures must be supplied as separate files, while tables are submitted as editable text. All figures and tables must be cited in the text, numbered in order, and provided with captions.
