Original Research Communications

Cover Letter A cover letter must be submitted. The cover letter must explain the manuscript’s suitability for publication and confirm all authors’ written consent to submission, responsibility for the content, and that the work is truthful and original.
Abstract A structured abstract is required. Abstract must not exceed 250 words. Abstract must be structured. Abstract headings must be Aims, Results, Innovation, and Conclusion.
Manuscript Manuscript must not exceed 6,000 words, excluding Materials and Methods. Text must be organized under the headings Introduction, Results, Discussion, Innovation, and Materials and Methods. Manuscript must include at least 4 keywords after the abstract, an Author Contributions section, a 'Statements and Declarations' section, and a simplified summary graphic illustration as Fig. 1 in the Innovation section.
References References must not exceed 75. References must follow Sage Harvard style. Every in-text citation must have a matching reference list entry and each reference list entry must have a matching in-text citation with identical spelling and year.
Figures & Tables A maximum total of 8 to 10 figures is allowed. Figures must not be embedded within the manuscript file, figure legends must be uploaded as a separate Word file, and tables must be prepared in a separate Word file. Figures and tables must be numbered consecutively in the order cited in the text.
