Autonomic Neuroscience is an international journal covering all aspects of the autonomic nervous system in humans and animals. It is the official publication of The International Society for Autonomic Neuroscience and The Australasian Society for Autonomic Neuroscience, and considers work on blood vessels, viscera, autonomic ganglia, autonomic pathways, autonomic nuclei, and related structure, physiology, pharmacology, biochemistry, development, evolution, ageing, behaviour, and human pathology.

Manuscript
Manuscript must be divided into clearly defined and numbered sections. The manuscript must include 1 to 7 keywords in English, article highlights of 3 to 5 bullet points submitted as a separate editable file, and a generative AI disclosure section before the references when applicable.
References
Citations must use the author-date style. References may be submitted in any consistent style at submission, but the reference list must be arranged alphabetically and then chronologically if necessary.
Figures & Tables
Tables must be submitted as editable text and figures must be supplied as separate files along with the manuscript. Tables must be cited in the text, numbered consecutively, and include captions, and all figures must be cited in the text, numbered in order, and accompanied by captions.

Review Articles are typically 8,000 words, but this is flexible. Manuscript must be divided into clearly defined and numbered sections. Manuscript must include 1 to 7 English keywords, article highlights of 3 to 5 bullet points submitted as a separate editable file, declarations completed via the declarations tool, and a declaration of generative AI use in a new section before the references list if applicable.

References may be submitted in any consistent style or format, with text citations using author name and year. Reference list must be arranged alphabetically and then chronologically if necessary, and entries must include author names, source title, article or chapter title, year, and volume or pagination where applicable.
Figures & Tables
Tables must be submitted as editable text within the submission, while figures and other artwork must be supplied as separate files along with the manuscript.
