Original Research Papers

Cover Letter Cover letter is required. Cover letter must specify the corresponding author, state that the paper is not under consideration elsewhere, disclose any AI contribution and its nature if applicable, substantiate each author's contribution if there are more than 4 authors, and include any request for expedited review with its rationale.
Abstract Original Research Papers must include both a structured abstract and a condensed abstract. Structured abstract must be no more than 250 words and condensed abstract must be no more than 100 words. Structured abstract is required for the main abstract and a separate condensed abstract is also required. Structured abstract must be presented in 5 paragraphs with the headings Background, Objectives, Methods, Results, and Conclusions.
Manuscript Original Research Papers must be no more than 4,500 words including text, references, and figure legends. Text must be structured as Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, and Conclusions and must include Study Limitations, Perspectives, and Clinical Perspectives covering What Is Known?, What Is New?, and What Is Next? Manuscript must include 3 to 5 keywords, an abbreviations list of no more than 10 abbreviations, a Central Illustration with title, legend, and caption, and Clinical Perspectives limited to 1 paragraph of 3 to 4 sentences.
References References must follow AMA style with minor modifications. References must be numbered consecutively in order of citation, cited in the text as superscript numerals without parentheses, use Index Medicus journal abbreviations, list all authors if 6 or fewer or the first 3 followed by et al if more than 6, and omit periods after author initials.
Figures & Tables Figure legends and tables must be placed on separate pages in the manuscript, and supplemental material may be included as a separate upload. Original Research Papers must include a Central Illustration that is original, does not duplicate other manuscript images, is not adapted or reprinted from another source, and has a title of no more than 10 words plus a legend with title and caption.

State Of The Art Review

Cover Letter A cover letter is required and must explain how the submission differs from existing reviews on the subject. The cover letter must explain how the submission differs from existing reviews on the subject and must specify the corresponding author.
Abstract An abstract is required. The abstract must be unstructured and no more than 250 words. The abstract must be unstructured.
Manuscript The manuscript should generally not exceed 8,000 words including text, references, and figure legends. The manuscript must include Highlights and a Central Illustration. Highlights must consist of 3 to 4 brief bullet points totaling 90 to 120 words maximum, with the first bullet giving translational or clinical context, the second covering the main message and any recommendations, and the final bullet summarizing future directions.
References References must follow AMA Manual of Style with minor modifications. References must be numbered consecutively in order of citation, use Index Medicus journal abbreviations, and list all authors if 6 or fewer or the first 3 followed by et al. if more than 6.
Figures & Tables There is no limit on the number of figures or tables. A Central Illustration is required as an original image that does not duplicate other manuscript images, must not be adapted or reprinted from another source, and must include a title of no more than 10 words plus a legend with a title and caption.
