Abstract
A structured abstract is required for Randomized Clinical Trials. The abstract may be up to 350 words. The abstract must be structured and reported in accordance with the CONSORT Extension for Abstracts Checklist. The abstract must identify the study as a randomized clinical trial and include trial design, participant eligibility criteria and setting, interventions for each group, objective or hypothesis, primary outcome, allocation method, blinding status, numbers randomized and analysed in each group, primary-outcome results with effect size and precision, important adverse events or side effects, a general interpretation, trial registration number and register name, and source of funding.

The main text should use separate Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussion sections, and the primary end point and power calculation must be stated clearly. Randomized Clinical Trials may include up to six keywords, must include a Data Availability Statement in the paper, must disclose any use of AI in the Methods or Acknowledgements section, and must provide the original full trial protocol with any amendments as supplementary material with an English translation if the original is not in English.

Randomized Clinical Trials must include a suitable CONSORT flow chart in the submission, and survival curves must be accompanied by a table of actual patient numbers and truncated when numbers at risk are less than one-third of the starting figure.
