The Breast is a multidisciplinary open access journal for researchers and clinicians focusing on translational and clinical research for the advancement of breast cancer prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of all stages. It publishes original research articles, systematic reviews, viewpoints/commentaries, debate articles, and correspondences on pre-malignant and malignant breast disease, including epidemiology, translational research, imaging, oncology, surgery, psycho-oncology, quality of life, survivorship, supportive care, palliative care, advocacy, nursing, and breast care management.

Original Research Papers

Abstract Abstract is required for Original Research Papers. Abstract must not exceed 250 words.
Manuscript Text of the paper must not exceed 3,000 words, excluding the abstract, references, tables, and captions. Manuscript must include 1 to 7 keywords, article highlights of 3 to 5 bullet points, a competing interests declaration, and a generative AI declaration in a new section before the references list.
References References must be cited in the text using numbers in square brackets, listed in reference-list order of appearance, and for works with more than 6 authors the first 6 authors should be listed followed by 'et al.'.
Figures & Tables Tables must be submitted as editable text and figures must be supplied as separate files along with the manuscript. All tables and figures must be cited in the text, numbered consecutively in order of appearance, and provided with captions.

Manuscript Review Articles must not exceed 5,000 words in length. Review Articles should be topical and not just an overview of the literature. Manuscript must include 1 to 7 keywords, article highlights of 3 to 5 bullet points, a declarations section completed before the references list including any generative AI use statement, and acknowledgements in a separate section directly before the references list.
References References must be cited as numbers in square brackets, listed in the reference list in order of appearance, include standard bibliographic details, and list the first 6 authors followed by 'et al.' when there are more than 6 authors.
