Cell Biology and Toxicology is an international journal devoted to research at the cellular level. It publishes papers of high scientific standard in cell biology, genetic, molecular and cellular toxicology, including studies of subcellular and cellular systems from prokaryotic and eukaryotic cell types and animal studies. The journal covers the basic biology and physiological, pharmacological, and toxic responses of cellular systems, with a major focus on mechanisms of action of toxic compounds, and publishes original research, reviews, and announcements.

Abstract Abstract is required for Original Articles. Abstract must be unstructured and up to 250 words. Abstract must be unstructured.
Manuscript Manuscript must be 3000-6000 words excluding the abstract, tables, figure legends, and references. Manuscript must include 4 to 6 keywords, a Data Availability Statement, a disclosure statement, a 'Statements and Declarations' section after the references including Funding and Competing Interests statements, and documentation of any LLM use in the Methods section or suitable alternative part of the manuscript.
References Reference list is limited to 50 references. Citations must use name-and-year style. Reference list must include only cited published or accepted works, be alphabetized by the last name of the first author, and include full DOI links when available.
Figures & Tables Original Articles must contain no more than 8 display items in total, including figures and tables. Figures should be submitted within the body of the text, although large figures may be submitted separately if file size causes upload problems. Figures and tables must be numbered with Arabic numerals and cited in consecutive numerical order, with captions provided for each table and figure captions included in the manuscript text file rather than within the figure files.
