Abstract Abstract is required for Article manuscripts. Abstract must be 250 words. Abstract must be unstructured.
Manuscript Article manuscripts must not exceed 4,000 words. The body must use the headings Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussion and also include Acknowledgements, Study Highlights after the Discussion, Author Contributions before the References, References, Figure Legends, and Tables. A Study Highlights section under 280 words answering four specified questions is required, and an Author Contributions section must list only the allowed roles of wrote the manuscript, designed the research, performed the research, analyzed the data, and optionally contributed new reagents/analytical tools.
References References must be listed in citation order, include article titles, list up to six authors or the first three followed by et al. if more than six, and include only published works or manuscripts in press.
