Current Opinion in Genetics & Development is an invitation-only journal. Submissions are accepted by invitation from the editorial board only. The following article types are accepted:

Review Articles

Cover Letter Cover Letter requirements are not specified.
Abstract An abstract is required. Abstracts must not exceed 120 words. Unstructured.
Manuscript Review Articles should be approximately 2000 words, excluding references and reference notes. Manuscripts must be divided into clearly defined sections using headings. The manuscript must include 1 to 7 English keywords and a separate generative AI declaration section before the references list if generative AI tools were used.
References Review Articles should include approximately 50 references, with at least 10% annotated as special interest or outstanding interest papers and no more than 20% self-citations. Numbered citations in square brackets. References must be listed in the order cited in the text, and Review Articles must include the section title 'References and recommended reading' followed by the statements '* of special interest' and '** of outstanding interest'.
Figures & Tables Review Articles must include no more than 4 tables or figures and at least one figure summarizing the main concepts discussed. Figures and other artwork must be supplied as separate files along with the manuscript, while tables must be submitted as editable text. All tables and figures must be cited in the manuscript text, numbered in order of appearance, and supplied with captions.
