Dental and Medical Problems is a bimonthly open access journal published by Wroclaw Medical University that covers dentistry, oral health, and general medicine. Submission Instructions

Dental And Medical Problems is an invitation-only journal. Submissions are accepted by invitation from the editorial board only. The following article types are accepted:

Original Papers

Cover Letter A cover letter is required. The cover letter must confirm that the manuscript has not been previously submitted to another journal except for abstracts of no more than 250 words or published elsewhere, that all co-authors and responsible institutional authorities approved the publication, and it must disclose any use of generative AI or AI-assisted technologies in writing the manuscript.
Abstract An abstract is required. Abstract must contain 200–300 words. Abstract must be structured into five separate parts. Abstract headings must be Background, Objectives, Material and methods, Results, and Conclusions.
Manuscript Original Papers must not exceed 5,000 words. Main text must consist of Introduction with objectives, Material and methods, Results, Discussion, and Conclusions in that order. The manuscript must include a Highlights section before the Introduction with 3–5 one-sentence bullet points, include 3–5 English MeSH-recommended key words after the abstract, contain a Declarations heading even if marked 'Not applicable', and add an 'AI usage in the writing process' section at the end of the manuscript body file if AI-assisted writing tools were used.
References Original Papers may include a maximum of 75 references. References must follow AMA citation style. References must be cited as Arabic numerals in superscript and numbered consecutively in the order first mentioned in the manuscript, with journal abbreviations following Index Medicus.
Figures & Tables Figures and tables must be submitted as separate files, while figure descriptions must be placed in the main text and graphical abstracts must be uploaded separately as Figure 0.

Reviews

Cover Letter A cover letter is required for Reviews. The cover letter must confirm that the manuscript has not previously been submitted to another journal except for abstracts of no more than 250 words or published elsewhere, and that the publication has been approved by all co-authors and the responsible institutional authorities, and it must also disclose any use of AI or AI-assisted technologies in writing if applicable.
Abstract An abstract is required for Reviews. The abstract must contain 150–250 words. The abstract must be unstructured.
Manuscript The manuscript must not exceed 6,000 words. The manuscript must include a Highlights section placed before the Introduction. The manuscript must include 3–5 one-sentence highlight bullet points, 3–5 MeSH-recommended key words after the abstract, a Declarations heading, and an "AI usage in the writing process" section at the end of the manuscript body if AI or AI-assisted technologies were used in writing.

Research Letters

Abstract A structured text abstract is required. The abstract must be structured. The abstract must include Introduction, Material and methods, Results, Discussion, and Conclusions.
Manuscript The manuscript must not exceed 2,500 words. The manuscript must follow the same structure as an Original Paper with Introduction, Material and methods, Results, Discussion, and Conclusions. The manuscript must include a graphical abstract submitted separately as Figure 0, 3–5 English MeSH-recommended keywords after the abstract, a Declarations section, and if AI was used in writing, an 'AI usage in the writing process' section at the end of the manuscript body file.
References The reference list may contain up to 30 references. References must follow AMA citation style. References must be cited with consecutive Arabic superscript numerals in order of first mention, journal titles must use Index Medicus abbreviations when available, and online sources must include a DOI or otherwise a URL with access date.
Figures & Tables The submission may include no more than 2 tables or figures, or 1 table and 1 figure. Tables and figures must be uploaded as separate files, with figure descriptions placed in the main text. The graphical abstract must be submitted separately as Figure 0 and a figure from the manuscript must not also be used as the graphical abstract.

Cover letter must include signed confirmation that the manuscript has not previously been submitted to another journal except for abstracts of no more than 250 words or published elsewhere, confirmation of approval by all co-authors and the responsible institution authorities, and disclosure of any AI use in writing if applicable.
Abstract Abstract is not allowed.
Manuscript Main text must not exceed 1,500 words. A one-sentence highlight may be used instead of an abstract, and the manuscript must include a competing interests statement, a statement on the use of AI and AI-assisted technologies, authors’ affiliations and contributions, 3–5 English key words, a graphical abstract submitted separately as Figure 0, and a Declarations heading.
