Drug Delivery and Translational Research is an official journal of the Controlled Release Society and a dedicated platform for high-quality research focused on translational aspects of drug delivery and novel drug delivery systems. It explores rationally developed delivery systems in different disease conditions, considers preclinical and clinical data related to drug delivery systems, covers devices for drug delivery and drug/device combination products, and publishes original full-length papers, communications, reviews, meeting reports, research highlights, and announcements related to Controlled Release Society activities.

Review Articles

Cover Letter A cover letter is required, and Review Articles must additionally upload a separate Review Proposal file. The cover letter must disclose the significance of the work and, if applicable, details of any editorial invitation, while the Review Proposal must state the relevance for DDTR readership, the originality and timeliness of the review, the authors' expertise and track record, and at least 3 representative related original research articles by the authors.
Abstract An abstract is required for Review Articles. Abstract must be 150 to 250 words.
Manuscript Review Articles should typically be 6–10 printed pages, including figures and references. The manuscript must include a disclosure statement. Review Articles must include a contribution statement identifying who had the idea for the article, who performed the literature search and data analysis, and who drafted and/or critically revised the work, and the manuscript must include a 'Statements and Declarations' section after the References section containing Funding, Competing Interests, and Author Contributions statements.
References Citations in the text must use numbers in square brackets, the reference list must be numbered consecutively, and Review Articles must cite appropriate and relevant literature to support claims made.
Figures & Tables Figures should be submitted within the body of the text, with large figures submitted separately only if upload problems occur. Figures and tables must be numbered with Arabic numerals and cited in consecutive numerical order, each table must have a caption, and each figure must have a concise caption provided in the manuscript text file rather than in the figure file.

Research Articles

Tables and figures must be numbered in Arabic numerals, cited in consecutive numerical order, and accompanied by captions, with figure captions included in the manuscript text file rather than in the figure files.
