Genetic Epidemiology

Genetic Epidemiology is a human genetics journal covering the genetic causes behind the distribution of human traits in families and populations. The journal focuses on the contribution of genetic and environmental factors to human disease as revealed by genetic, epidemiological, and biologic investigations. It is the official journal of the International Genetic Epidemiology Society and primarily publishes papers in statistical genetics, including bioinformatical and computational models for analyzing genetic data.

Submission Instructions

Genetic Epidemiology accepts the following article types. Click on an article type to view submission instructions.

Research Articles

Cover Letter A cover letter is required when the manuscript has appeared on a preprint server. The cover letter must indicate preprint-server availability and provide the DOI.
Abstract An abstract is required. Abstract must be 200 words.
Manuscript The manuscript must include abstract, introduction, methods, results, and conclusions. The title page must include co-author details and required policy statements, and the manuscript must include up to seven keywords, acknowledgments, and appendices if relevant.
References References must follow APA 7th edition. The reference list must be alphabetized by author name, include DOIs when available, and contain only published papers and papers in press.
Figures & Tables Figures and tables may be uploaded as separate files or included in a single document, but at revision stage figures and tables must be separate files. Figures and tables must have legends, tables must be editable and self-contained, figures must be cited in the text and numbered in order, and figure legends must define symbols, abbreviations, and units.
