Respirology Case Reports

Respirology Case Reports is an international open access journal publishing original clinical case reports, case series, clinical images, and clinical videos in all fields of respiratory medicine. It facilitates international exchange between clinicians and researchers on diagnosing and treating uncommon diseases or unusual presentations, and considers cases with strong educational value supported by a solid discussion. It is the official case reports journal of the Asian Pacific Society of Respirology.

Case Series

Cover Letter A cover letter is required to declare any overlap with previously published or concurrently submitted work and to disclose whether and how AI-assisted technologies were used in producing the submission. The cover letter must declare any overlap with previously published or concurrently submitted material and disclose whether and how AI-assisted technologies were used in producing the work.
Abstract An abstract is required for Case Series submissions. The abstract must not exceed 150 words.
Manuscript The main text must not exceed 1500 words. The main text must be structured as Introduction, Case Series, and Discussion. The manuscript must include a title, authors’ names, affiliations, corresponding author details, a short title of no more than 40 characters including spaces, 5 keywords in alphabetical order, a statement confirming patient consent or institutional review board or ethics committee approval, conflicts of interest, funding, and acknowledgements.
References The manuscript must not include more than 15 references. References must be cited using superscript Arabic numerals in the order first mentioned and the reference list must list the first six authors followed by et al. when there are more than six.
Figures & Tables The manuscript must not include more than 2 figures and tables in total. Tables and figures must be supplied as separate files rather than embedded in the manuscript template. Tables must include a descriptive caption and figures must have legends provided separately in the template.

Manuscript Case video description or case and procedure summary must not exceed 100 words, the key message must not exceed 50 words, and the short title must not exceed 40 characters including spaces. Manuscript must include a title, authors’ first and last names, affiliations, corresponding author details, a short title, 5 keywords in alphabetical order, a key message, and a case video description or case and procedure summary. Manuscript must include a patient consent statement, conflicts of interest statement, funding statement, and acknowledgements.
References References may be included only if applicable and must not exceed 2. References must be cited as superscript Arabic numerals in order of first appearance, list the first six authors followed by et al. if more than six, and use Medline journal title abbreviations.
Figures & Tables Total submitted files, including video, audio, tables, figures, and text, must not exceed 350 MB. Tables must be supplied as separate editable files, figures must be uploaded as separate files rather than inserted in the manuscript, video files must use the "Embedded Video" designation, transcripts must use the "Transcription" designation, and an image must be submitted as an "Embedded video placeholder." Legends for rich media files must be placed at the end of the article, and any speech in video or audio must be accompanied by a transcript with English translation for non-English speech.

References References are limited to a maximum of 4. References must be cited as superscript Arabic numerals in order of first appearance, and the reference list must list the first six authors followed by et al. if there are more than six.
Figures & Tables A maximum of 1 table or figure is allowed. Tables and figures must be supplied as separate files rather than embedded in the manuscript file.
