Original Articles

Cover Letter A cover letter is required for Original Articles. The cover letter must be signed by the corresponding author, state on behalf of all authors that the work has not been published and is not under consideration elsewhere, and include the word count.
Abstract A structured abstract is required for Original Articles. The abstract must not exceed 250 words. The abstract must be structured. The abstract must use the sequential headings Introduction, Aim, Methods, Results, and Conclusion.
Manuscript Original Articles should not exceed 3,000 words. The manuscript must be organized under the headings Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, and Conclusion, with Results and Discussion permitted to be combined. The manuscript must include keywords and declarations of interests.
References Original Articles must contain no more than 40 references. References may be submitted in any citation style or format if used consistently throughout the manuscript. References may be formatted in any consistent style or format.
Figures & Tables The main text file and figures should be submitted as separate files. Figures and tables must each have legends and be cited in the text.

References Review Articles must contain no more than 60 references. References may be submitted in any citation style or format if used consistently throughout the manuscript. References must be listed consistently throughout the manuscript.
Figures & Tables The main text file and figures should be submitted as separate files, although the manuscript may also be submitted as a single file including text, figures, and tables. Figures and tables must have legends and each figure and table must be cited in the text.
